Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year, hence the blog being so quiet the past week. We had a great Thanksgiving! While finally sitting down and eating dinner, I looked around and my heart was so happy! I love seeing our house full of family, all laughing, eating, and having a good time.

Other than the craziness that leads up to hosting a large holiday, I was able to sneak in some play time! I receive my order from OnStage, where I was able to order some goodies from the Occasions catalog. It will be officially out Jan. 5th, and let me tell you, it has some incredible things in it! My poor wallet….

(Forgive me for not editing or cropping my pics! I’m doing this all on my iPad tonight so I can share these quickly with you all!)

This first one isn’t my favorite card exactly, but it’s the first one I whipped up after opening my package.

Look at that heart. It is a die. A stunningly beautiful, intricate die. Love love love!!!

(Notice the new Bashful Bride glimmer paper?)

The next set used is made to coordinate with our Hearth & Home Framelits. So yeah, that is sticking around from our holiday catalog 😉

The following two cards use the same set. I used my Aqua Painters with various Stampin’ Up inks to create the watercolor look for the, both.

Finally, the last two cards used an incredible mix of a new stamp set with coordinating Framelits. Seriously people… I was on the fence about ordering this set, but am so glad that I did. Numerous leaves and flowers, dies to build flowers, the possibilities are endless. See the edge of these two cards? That die is included!

So there you have a quick sneak peek!! I’ll be sharing more soon, so make sure to check back!

Oh! Tomorrow is the last day of our Online Extraviganza! If you haven’t already, make sure to check out the list of items that are on sale 20-50% off! Great deals to be had!

Holiday Carryover List

Real quick post here… I have had a few people ask me what IS carrying over from the Holiday Catalog. The retiring list is long… but I promise, some great stuff is being kept around!

Now, even the demonstrators don’t know yet what is going to be in 2016/2017 annual catalog, but we do know that for the next 7 months at least, the items listed below from our Holiday catalog will still be available to purchase.

2015 Holiday Catalog Carryovers

Just click on the link above, and it will take you to a .PDF that lists the name of the item, the page it is on in the Holiday Catalog, the price, and more.

Special thanks to a fellow demonstrator Jean Fitch for putting this together for us all 🙂

If you have any questions, let me know! Leave a comment or email me at InkItAll@yahoo.com.

Have a great day!

Weekly Deals! Nov. 17th- Nov. 23rd!

Whoa… I just looked at the calendar. Next week is Thanksgiving!!! Where has November gone? Heck, where did this year go? We will be hosting 12-14 people at our house this year, I can’t wait! Thank God for my wonderful mom and my equally wonderful Mother-In-Law. They will be bringing some dishes to add to the table.

This weeks Deals are up, and they are great!

That Season to Season Wreath Project Kit is wonderful. That is the only kit I haven’t purchased from the Holiday catalog, but I think that will be changing this week. It is wonderful! It comes with everything you need to make a beautiful wreath that will cover Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. With some extras of your own choosing, you can easily make it appropriate for Spring and Summer as well.

OnStage Local- Milwaukee

This past Saturday I attended an event for Stampin’ Up demonstrators, OnStage Local. This is replacing their conventions. Every six months they will have an OnStage 3 day event in one location. The rest of the world will have various one day OnStage Local events. Since I couldn’t make my way to Brussels this year to attend the 3 day, I made do with the 1 day local event in Milwaukee.

In short, it was amazing. I wish I took pictures, but I didn’t. Well, only of the sample boards showing *new* product, but I can’t share those…

It was a jam packed day, from 7:30am to 6pm, full of friends (old and new!), drool worthy products, swaps (that I will share in the next few days), inspirational speakers, laughing, eating, dancing, more laughing, and did I mention the products?

We got to play with a couple of new items, and I couldn’t be more excited. I can’t wait to be able to share with you all. Stampin’ Up has knocked it out of the park with their new ideas. My poor wallet…

I had such a great time, that I think that the day was only half over when I texted my husband that I couldn’t wait for Utah! They will be hosting the main 3 day event there in April, and I am going to do everything that I can to make sure that I will be there 🙂

Holiday Retiring List

The time has come for Stampin’ Up to start saying goodbye to some of the amazing items in our holiday 2015 catalog!

Stampin’ Up Retiring List- PDF

The above list has everything that will be making its way out the door over the next two months. These are *while supplies last* so make sure to get your orders in if there is something you want. The list will be updated regularly, so I will share the updated list as I get it to make sure everyone can get what they want. Book mark this post so you don’t need to search later. I will update the link above every day or so with the new list.

Have a great day!

My Favorite Things

Oprah has her favorite things, why can’t I have Tyra’s Favorite Things?

Since blog content is light this week while I prepare for OnStage this weekend, I thought that I would share with you my favorite Stampin’ Up items.

Stampin Trimmer

Love, love, love this thing! I hemmed and hawed over the purchase. It is $37, which I would rather spend on stamps, I already had trimmers (plural, I have a drawer full of them!), didn’t see what made this one so special. Let me tell you, it IS special! It cuts like a dream! It locks closed for when you travel with it so the arm doesn’t break. The cutting base is extra wide (6 ¼ inches), AND extra tall. You can keep both your cutting blade and your scoring blade in the trimmer at all times, and they don’t get in the way. The cutting channel is strong enough that your blade won’t wiggle its way down the tract, causing sloppy cuts, and it will hold down a piece of paper with minimal pressure so the paper won’t move. The arm that swings out locks into place, and one of my favorite things about the trimmer is the arm is almost 9 inches long and has measurements along the whole thing. That sounds silly, but on other trimmers the arm that swings out doesn’t have measurements on the far right side, where it actually swivels out from the trimmer base. That alone made me so happy. And the final thing that sealed the deal for me? It has a generous storage compartment in the base for your extra blades, scoring tool, whatever you need.

Here is a great video from Stampin’ Up about the trimmer.

Stampin’ Scrub & Stampin’ Mist

These are two products that work together beautifully to keep your stamps clean and in great working order. Another set of products that I hesitated to purchase. I have always used baby wipes to clean my stamps. Yup, they worked just fine. But that was it, they were fine. Not great. The Stampin’ Scrub gets in the nooks and crannies of the stamps, making sure that every bit is scrubbed clean. The Stampin’ Mist helps with that, but also conditions the stamps assuring that your stamps will be in great condition for years to come.

Now, certain inks will stain your rubber, especially photopolymer (I am looking at you Real Red!!!!). There is nothing that can be done about stained stamps. But that doesn’t bother me at all. As long as I clean them real quick with the Scrub, I am good. To me a stained stamp is a loved stamp.

Whisper White 8 ½ x 11 Thick Cardstock

Now, Stampin’ Up’s Whisper White cardstock is a staple. It is fantastic. It is a dream to stamp with, takes ink like a champ, blends beautifully, scores neatly, and is about perfect in every way. But then the big brother came out, the Thick cardstock. This is 100# cardstock and is perfect for card bases. Typically I would use Whisper White as the card base, then trim another piece to go inside the card to write my message or stamp my sentiment. That gave the card a bit more “oomph”. With the Thick Whisper White, there is no need for the inside piece unless you choose to for aesthetic reasons.

Square Pillowbox Thinlit Dies

This set is a bargain at $33. I didn’t purchase this as soon as it came out for whatever reason. But I wanted it. Oh man did I want it! So as soon as I had a few extra pennies into my shopping cart it went! And oh do I love it! Perfect for little gifts (gift cards, jewelry, candy, etc). There will be many of these under our Christmas tree this year. In addition to the pillowbox die, you get 7 other dies as well. A cute candy cane, pumpkins, snowflake, Christmas tree, leaves, and two nesting squares. I have been using those squares to make windows in the pillowbox, and a frame to outline the window. So cute! And with a little Big Shot magic, you can turn this into a longer, rectangle pillow box.

Fine- Tip Glue Pen

This little bottle is fantastic! It is a thin liquid glue, much thinner than the regular Multipurpose glue that Stampin’ Up has, with a longer dry time. It comes in a bottle with a thin, long, metal nozzle. This makes it a dream to use on word die cuts, glitter, tiny embellishments, etc. And like other liquid glues, the dry time is long enough to adjust whatever you are gluing down in case of misplacement (which is why I much prefer liquid glue!). The cap has a long metal pin in it. When you close the bottle you put the pin inside the nozzle of the glue bottle. This way you won’t open the bottle to find that your adhesive has glued itself shut! That pin keeps things clean and open for you. This has fast become a staple for me!

So there you have it, 5 of Tyra’s Favorite Things! Let me know if there are any questions or if you have a favorite thing not listed.

Have a great day!

Weekly Deals! Nov 10th- Nov 16th!

Wow… as usual good stuff on sale this week! I am going to need a punch intervention soon! The poinsettia punch and the doilies will be in my shopping cart this week. I have seen some adorable things done with the punch, can’t wait to try it out.

And the doilies?? Don’t omit them just because they are gold and silver! They are solid white on the reverse side, making them wonderful as a white accent, or grab your dauber and ink it up to match your project!

An Update!

Hi everyone!!! It has been quiet around here, and I am sorry for that! This coming up weekend is OnStage, a Stampin’ Up convention. This year the main one is being held in Brussels. Yup, in Germany. My wallet won’t allow me to fly there for it, but I will be attending an OnStage Local event in Milwaukee. Stampin’ Up is holding the Local events at numerous places around the world, all on Nov. 14th. So while many (most?) of us won’t be able to get to Germany, we will be able to at least attend the one day event.

I am so excited for it! I signed up for two swaps, and have been busy busy busy working on those. Unfortunately many things had to be put aside while I finished these. I signed up for the swaps about a month and a half ago and am just now finishing. Not because I was procrastinating, but because I couldn’t pin down two designs! I can’t even begin to say how many pieces of cardstock I wasted while trying to come up with ideas.

The first swap is a WOW swap, where you need to create a card to impress, your very best work. Funny enough, this wasn’t the one that gave me the most trouble. My idea was inspired by another demonstrator, and I ran with the idea.

Want a peek? This is the start of 28 cards….

Swap sneak peek

The main images on the card will be using Lovely as a Tree. I don’t know why I held out on purchasing this set for so long. It has been around for a long time and is a very popular set. I finally bit the bullet and purchased it a few months back, and I can honestly say that it is my most used stamp set these days. Great for the holidays, mens cards, background, etc. Extremely versatile.

The second card swap I signed up for is a technique swap. Each person chooses a technique that they would like to showcase. I chose watercolor. I LOVE the look of watercolor background, and I adore how our inks play with water so well. No sneak peek of that one. I finished up those cards Saturday evening. Phew! This is the one that really did me in. I had an idea. It didn’t work quite the way I planned. So I came up with another idea. It worked. Fantastic! So I created my 16 watercolor backgrounds….and promptly switched to a whole new idea. This swap was really a labor of love.

When I get back after the event I will share my two cards. I will also have a bunch of samples to share from those that I am swapping with.

Did I mention I am excited??
