Happy Hump Day!

Hope everyone has had a great week so far!

Last night I finished up a card for my husband’s cousin’s wedding. She is getting married this weekend, but unfortunately it is out of state and my husband and I are unable to attend 😦

My in-laws are going though so we will be sending this and her gift along with them.

Her invitation was so pretty, die cut florals around the edges in cream and purple. It had an almost watercolored look to it, so I decided to do my own version for the card.

I lightly misted a piece of watercolor paper with water, then using an Aqua Brush, I dabbed on Perfect Plum ink here and there. I added more water in places to get the ink to spread a bit, and used the edge of a paper towel to pick up ink that I felt was too concentrated. When it was to my liking, I dried it real quick with my heat gun.

I ran the dry panel through my Big Shot using the Detail Floral Thinlit Dies, using the precision plate to make sure that all of the little details were fully cut out.

The now die cut and watercolored panel was adhered to a piece of Very Vanilla.

I went back and die cut the same onto a scrap piece of Perfect Plum cardstock. I wasn’t going to need the whole thing, so it didn’t matter what it looked like! I picked out a few of the pieces and adhered them into the watercolored panel. I love the inlaid look here!

The whole thing was adhered using dimensionals onto an A2 sized card in Perfect Plum, with pretty bow at the top using 5/8″ Satin ribbon in Very Vanilla. (Ribbon is retired, sorry!)

I hope the happy couple likes it and sees the correlation between it and their invitation!
