Pun Intended!

Good morning!

I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I sure did. Saturday I only left the house to get our Opie some dog food and treats. That was it… I love days like that! Sunday my husband and I spent the morning doing errands, then we went bowling! We are in a bowling league and it started last night. I don’t know what I am doing on the league, I am horrible. But I have fun, that is all that matters!

Among other things, on Saturday I wanted to make my sweet husband a card. He is truly an amazing husband and puts up with so much from me! He deserves something every now and then to remind him how much I appreciate him.

I pulled out Pun Intended, a hostess set that I adore.

This is right up my alley! I get a little giggle out of silly puns.

Cute right?

I stamped the light onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark. Then I sprinkled on some White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Since I would be fussy cutting the light out of So Saffron cardstock, I didn’t need the light heat embossed. I just took a small paint brush and brushed the embossing powder off of just the light bulb. Then I heat embossed it.

I went back and stamped the sentiment onto the cardstock using Versamark again, then heat embossed it using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

*Note- I could have stamped both the light and the sentiment at the same time, but when stamping with Versamark it doesn’t leave a very visible image, more of a watermark type image. Since I wanted to be sure everything would be straight, I chose to stamp and heat emboss each on their own.

I stamped the light bulb onto a scrap piece of So Saffron and again onto a piece of Real Red.

I fussy cut the light bulb out of So Saffron, then just the heart out of the Real Red piece.

The So Saffron light bulb was then adhered to the black cardstock, over the original light bulb, with the Real Red heart being adhered to the light bulb.

The panel was then adhered to a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then onto an A2 top folding card in So Saffron.

You can see in this image that the inside of the card has the panels reversed- Whisper White on top of Basic Black. “I love you a watt” is stamped on the inside.

This was a fun card to make. Remember, you can get SO much more use out of your images when piecing them together out of different colored cardstock. Try it!

Have a wonderful day!!
