Special Announcement!

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all had an amazing holiday weekend! We sure did. We spent lots of time with our families, my very favorite part! Yesterday we hung low at the house and did a whole lot of nothing! It was much needed and much enjoyed!

One of my favorite parts of Christmas? At least this year in particular? My husband and I got to share some special news…

We are expecting! To say that we are excited is an understatement!!!! Our families are over the moon as well.

The baby is due July 4th, oddly enough that is the same day that I was due with my older son. It will be interesting to see what day this one turns up 🙂

So there you have it! Our big news, as well as the “special project” that I have been working on that I mentioned in the beginning of the month.

One more picture to share… My husband organized a Pet Photos with Santa event a few weeks back (He is an animal control warden for a local police department). The photographer that volunteered is a friend; who actually took our wedding photos. So we had a few photos of our sweet Opie taken.

The gentleman playing Santa was amazing! Hands down the best Santa that I have ever seen. So we figured why not have Santa make the announcement for us? That is how we ended up with the above photos. I love them!

I will be back next week, starting up with my normal schedule again. I hope you will forgive me for taking this time off.

Don’t forget!!!! Next Wednesday, January 4th, is the day our new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs go LIVE!!!!!

Contact me if you need either of the catalogs, I will be happy to either drop them off if you are local or pop one in the mail for you.

Have a great week and a wonderful (and safe!!!!!) New Years Eve!

Hi everyone!!!!

How has everyone’s Decembers been so far? On my end, so far it has been wonderful! I turned 40 on December 13th, so my wonderful hubby threw me a beautiful birthday party on the 10th. It was perfect! So many friends and family came, including one of my dearest friends. She flew in from Minnesota to surprise me for the weekend!

Unfortunately, that weekend we got the first mega snowfall. Then the second came this past weekend. It would figure that part 2 of the storm was hitting when my mom, mother-in-law, and I were driving over an hour away to see the Nutcracker. But my mom is amazing at driving in crazy weather and got us there and back perfectly safe 🙂

I just wanted to pop in real quick to remind you all that the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs are going live January 4th! EXCITING! Well, for me at least. I love all of the new goodies!

Now, while I can’t actually share the catalog with you all yet, I can share some of the great videos that Stampin’ Up has created to show off some of the new items as well as show you how to use them.

I chose 4 of my favorites here to share with you all…

Watercolor Pencils are BACK! I am crazy excited about these. Once upon a time Stampin’ Up sold watercolor pencils and they were wonderful. In fact, I still have my set! I received two packs of these last week and have been having fun playing with them.

These are SO much fun to play with! Again, I got mine last week and have just been playing to see what I can come up with. Love them! I really like how versatile they are. The set comes with not only the die to make the actual box, but dies to accentuate the box. Those dies can be used on your cards as well for a little extra something.

Those that attended OnStage had the opportunity to purchase certain bundles from the new Occasions catalog. This is one of them. And I jumped on this one! To say I love it is an understatement! I made a fun card for my brother’s birthday with the bundle the day I got it in the mail. Check it out HERE!

Finally, we have the Vertical Garden Project Kit. I don’t have this one yet. Knowing me, I will cave and order it soon lol Succulents are so on trend right now. When you see the catalog, you will get a peek at a beautiful stamp set that is all succulents, that has coordinating dies as well! But this kit has everything you need with the exception of the ink pads as well as the stamp set. (Psst… you can probably use any stamp set you like, don’t *have* to order the one that coordinates!). All of the succulents are precut for you, all you need to do is pop them out of the cardstock. Easy! And so pretty!!!!!

I will be back early next week for a quick share, but until then, stay warm, enjoy the time with your family and friends, and have a WONDERFUL holiday!!!!!!

Christmas Pines… Take 3!

Good morning!

Wow… it got COLD. We were having such a mild November, as soon as December hit, the temperatures fell. I heard that this is supposed to be an abnormally cold winter.. lovely :-/

How are you all doing with your holiday shopping? For once I am ahead of the game and just about done! Get this… even about done with wrapping! I have a few gifts stashed at work that need to be wrapped. That is it! I have a few little things left to purchase, but those are easy things. Love my Amazon Prime!

Today’s card is the 3rd and final card from the recent Christmas Card class I hosted. This month we all used the Christmas Pines bundle. Seeing as the last 2 months the cards were a bit more complicated, I wanted to give the ladies a break and making it easy and fun for them.

I think this was the easiest of the bunch!

The pine bough was stamped onto the background using Versamark then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The sentiment was created the same way.

The pine boughs were die cut from Whisper White cardstock, with the actual pine cones die cut from Gold Foil Cardstock.

A sweet bow finishes it off!

This is a great card to duplicate, so easy to create this one assembly line style 🙂

On a side note, our new Occasions catalog comes out January 4th, along with Sale-A-Bration! Exciting!!!!! I got a sneak peek at OnStage last month and was blown away. I even shared a few sneak peeks here for you all. Well, I placed my demonstrator order this past Friday, and it should be here on Monday. I didn’t expedite shipping like I normally do for catalog premiers. I am kinda slapping myself for that goof up lol But I will pop in next week to share some of the exciting items with you all 🙂

Have a great rest of your day!

Christmas Pines… take 2!

Good morning and happy Monday!

Well, we finally got our first snowfall of the season! About 6 inches of heavy, wet snow. It is SO pretty, but it is a pain to shovel! My poor hubby… he went out to shovel last night, thinking that there would be no need to drag out the snow blower. When he came in he was regretting that decision.

It is beautiful though. We have pine trees lining our property in the backyard as well as a large tree in the middle of the yard. It looks like a Christmas card out there! Our dog is having a blast too. He loves to play in the snow. He is like a little kid, when he gets too cold he wants to come in, 5 minutes later he wants back out to play!

Last week I shared the first of 3 cards we made in my most recent Christmas card class HERE. I promised you another card today as well!

So pretty right? And so simple! This card uses the Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I think that it adds the perfect something. Without it I feel the card might be too plain.

As well, the square panel uses our new Stitched Shapes Framelits. I so love these!!!! They add just a bit of visual interest to your project. Sadly, they are unavailable at the moment, but hopefully they will be back in stock soon. They were originally going to be released in the 2017 Annual Catalog, but the powers that be at Stampin’ Up felt that there just might be some interest now. And wow… there was. So much in fact that the entire inventory flew off the shelves :-/ Great for Stampin’ Up, not so great for those that missed out. But fear not! They will be back soon!

If you have any questions, let me know and I will be happy to share!

*A heads up: in order to spend time with my family, start wrapping the MOUNTAIN of gifts hiding in my basement, relax, and enjoy the holiday season, the blog is going to be very quiet starting Dec. 12th through the end of the year. I might pop in here and there, but for the most part there will be no scheduled posting. I hope you can forgive me!

Christmas Pines!

Hi everyone!

Whew… I owe you all an apology. I didn’t intend to disappear for so long, but man life has been beating me up! Mostly due to lots (and I mean LOTS) of changes at work… by the time I come home all I want to do is curl up into a ball and sleep. I am brain fried most days!

I am also working on a project that I can’t share just yet, but I will be spilling the beans toward the end of the month. Trust me, it is exciting!

Now, this past Sunday I had the 3rd and final Christmas Card class. This time we used my favorite of the bundles from the Holiday catalog- Christmas Pines.

The things that I have seen done with the bundle are amazing!!

But for the class, I wanted to keep things a bit simple. From the past few Christmas Card classes I hosted I learned that the classes can easily go to 4 or 5 hours with the more complex cards. It seemed everyone was happy with the ones I came up with though!

I will share one today, then the others on Monday and Wednesday of next week.

I think that this is my favorite of the three.

The background stamp is Merry Melody, a stamp that I had to get A.S.A.P. I just love this one. There is SO much that you can do with it!

It was mounted onto a piece of Gold Foil cardstock, with some of the pretty die cut pine branches as well as a few mistletoe leaves. I added a few pearls to act as the mistletoe.

Now, I will admit that while I created this card using Whisper White for the main panel as well as the card base, for the class kits I used Very Vanilla. It was a last minute change that I was so pleased with.

If you try this card, I urge you to try Very Vanilla. It made the card a bit more classy!

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
