Good morning and happy Tuesday!

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine? It was go go go all weekend long! The best part of Saturday though. I took my hubby to see Phantom of the Opera. It was SO good! I had never seen it before, though I know the soundtrack backwards and forward. I just loved it.

Now, I bought the tickets almost 2 months ago. When I bought them, they were so close to being sold out that I wasn’t even able to pick the seats. I got the tickets in the mail, row N in the balcony. No biggie! We get there, walk in, they point us to row N… Oh my. We were in literally the highest row in the theater. There were 12 seats slightly higher than ours, but that was it. Talk about nosebleed!

I took this to send to my mother-in-law right after we sat.

I had to giggle though, it was crazy! Even with our cloud skimming seats, we still had a great view of everything and enjoyed the show so very much!

The show ended up being 100% sold out, the entire run was. So I guess that I was lucky to get anything!

Dinner was at a great place across the street from the theater. Just delicious!!!!! It was a great date night!

Sunday was bowling, the first time that I have bowled since I found out that I was pregnant. I didn’t do well, at all lol But I had fun and it was nice visiting with everyone 🙂

Last night I had a bit of time to play. I have been toying with the Beautiful You set since I received it a few weeks ago, just playing, nothing serious. It is such a pretty set, so simple and elegant.

Well, last night I finally decided that it was time to get serious with it! I didn’t have a ton of time, this pregnancy makes me want to sleep by 9! But I wanted to do something simple with it to send to a friend.

I’m so happy with the way this card came out!!

  • Stamp woman onto a panel of Very Vanilla
  • Lightly color her dress, hat, and puddle under her with our new Watercolor pencils
  • Adhere a piece of Sweet Sugarplum ribbon around the card (I used the retired glitter ribbon here, but Ruched ribbon would be pretty! Or the 3/8″ ribbon from the Succulent Garden combo pack from the Occasions catalog!!)
  • Stamp sentiment under the ribbon
  • Adhere to a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock
  • Adhere to a piece of DSP from the Falling in Love DSP pack.
  • Adhere to a piece of Very Vanilla
  • Finally, adhere the whole panel to piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, trimmed and scored to form an A2 card

What do you think? I can’t wait to mail this for my friend in a few days!

Do you have any stamping plans this week? My mom is coming over tonight for dinner and to stamp a bit. I can’t wait! My neighbor stopped by last night and so kindly gave me some salmon that he caught on a fishing trip to Alaska. It is GOOD!!! So I will be baking that up tonight with some roasted potatoes and veggies I think. Yum!

Have a great day!!!

Window Shopping… take 2 (or 3!)

Good morning!

Hope that everyone has had a great week! It flew by for me!!!

I haven’t had much time for playing this week 😦 But last night I did carve out a few hours to play with the Window Shopping Bundle from the Occasions catalog!

I have used pieces from this bundle a few times already (check them out HERE and HERE)

This time though, I used the bundle for its original purpose… to make an adorable gift box!

Ingredients listed at the end of the post

This was so much fun to make!!!! Now, making the box is simple. You die cut two of the box pieces, adhere the tabs together, and boom! You have an adorable box!

But I was in the mood to take it a bit further and have fun with it!

After I die cut the box pieces from Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped the pieces with the Hardwood background stamp using Soft Suede ink. I was hoping to come up with a box that looked like wood.

I also stamped a scrap piece of Crumb Cake with the same Hardwood background stamp, then I die cut 3 of the side pieces side pieces and the top piece out.

The side pieces were trimmed to 1.5″x 1.5″. The top piece? I just trimmed around the image, following the indentations left from the die.

I them grabbed a sponge dauber and my Soft Suede ink pad, and lightly inked the edges of the box as well as the die cut pieces. That gave it a bit more dimension.

Each die cut piece was then adhered to a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock, then trimmed, leaving approximately 1/8 of an inch border around the die cut piece.

I adhered all of the pieces to the box, using Dimensionals. I loved that extra dimension it gave the box!

I wrapped a piece of 5/8 Burlap Ribbon and Very Vanilla 1/4 Satin Ribbon around the box and tied it in a simple knot.

The tag was created with a die from the same bundle, and was stamped using a sentiment from the coordinating stamp set. That was tied on with a piece of Gold Bakers Twine (from our Holiday catalog- Retired).

I so love the way this came out, and I completely loved making something other than a card! Trust me, these adorable boxes are so easy to make and can be as complicated or as simple as you want!

Since this is a sample box, the lid doesn’t open. But these little boxes are perfect to stuff with treats, gift cards, candy, or a small gift. The lid closes neatly into the box and holds shut with no adhesive.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Have a great day!!

Hey Chick!

Good morning!

I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I sure did! My husband and I spent Saturday doing errands and various baby related things. Yesterday he (along with my FIL) spent the afternoon starting to paint our former guest room, preparing it to become the nursery! So exciting!

My mom and MIL were over as well. We had a great family day! We all did a bit of stamping. FUN STUFF! I love stamping with a group. Yes, I get distracted and never quite finish what I started lol But sitting around chatting, sharing ideas, etc. Good stuff!

I played with a couple of things yesterday, but the only card I finished was this one

What do you think? I love this Sale-A-Bration set! Too cute!

This set makes me smile every time I look at it. That chicken in the lower right corner? He cracks me up lol

I water colored the chicken (and egg!) with our new Watercolor pencils. They were a dream to use… the color went on smoothly and blended effortlessly. This time I used our Blended Pen instead of an Aqua Painter to blend the colors and I am so happy with the way it came out.

The chicken wire background was made using our new Hexagons Dynamic Textures Embossing Folder. This is from the new Urban Underground Suite <— Click here to check it out!

The Dynamic Textures Embossing Folders are amazing. The impressions they leave are so much deeper and impressive than the standard ones! I inked up the embossing folder with some Crumb Cake ink before using it to emboss. That transferred the ink to the cardstock, giving more of a chicken wire fence look to it.

The rest of the card is fairly simple, using Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, and Pacific Point for cardstock (the same colors that I used on the chicken). A strip of 5/8 Burlap Ribbon finished it off.

What do you think? Does this set tickle you as much as it does me?

Remember! You can get this set free with any $50 purchase! Let me know if I can help you in any way.

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday!

Good afternoon!!!

Thank you for your patience this week 🙂 With my hubby in the hospital things have been nuts, to say the least!

But I am tickled to report that he is now HOME! YAY! I was able to bring him home yesterday afternoon. Life is returning back to normal. He is still in some pain, but you always feel better at home, right?

So on Tuesday I mentioned that I played a bit Monday evening, just a few simple cards.

VERY simple, even for me, but I am so happy with it!

Once again, I used a die from the Window Shopping Bundle.

I love these little candles. So much fun, and so versatile!

I die cut them from a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then adhered a scrap of Bermuda Bay under the candles, and a scrap of Sahara Sand under the flames (with a bit of Wink of Stella for sparkle on the flames!).

You can see that the top panel is adhered with Dimensionals right? I did that to make an incredible simple card just a tiny bit less simple.

The DSP is from the Cupcakes and Carousels DSP. Stampin’ Up has done an amazing job at giving us beautiful, fun, and versatile DSP in the Occasions catalog. I plan to use as much of it as possible!

I will be back on Monday with some more fun things to share! I plan on locking myself in my craft room on Sunday for a while, so hopefully I can get a lot accomplished.

Have a wonderful weekend!

So in Love…

Good morning!

Wow, it has been a week, and it is only Tuesday!! But it is all downhill from here, I choose to believe that! My wonderful hubby has been in the hospital since Saturday evening. Nothing too serious, and we are hoping that he will be home tomorrow or Wednesday.

Between going to and from the hospital and still working my regular job, I haven’t had much time to play. But when I got home from the hospital last night, I decided it was time  for some me time.

I didn’t have a whole lot of time to play, since I got pregnant I am pretty much a slave to prompt bedtimes! I also didn’t have the mental capacity to do anything too complicated.

I LOVE this card though!!!! I got the idea from another demonstrator, and went with it 🙂

As simple as it is, it makes me happy. Sometimes simple is just what you need! My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary on the 25th of this month and I am playing around with ideas for his card.

The base is a top folding A2 card from Cherry Cobbler cardstock, as is the matting around the DSP. The DSP is from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper stack. I am not typically a fan of the red and white hearts for Valentines Day, but I adore this DSP! There are some fantastic patterns here that are useful for so many different occasions, not just Valentine’s Day!

The heart is also diecut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock, using Stampin’ Up’s Sweet and Sassy Framelits.

Sweet and Sassy Framelits.jpg

Do you have these? I love them! You get 15 different sizes of hearts, in two different shapes. So versatile!

The bakers twine is sadly retired, but I couldn’t help but to use a bit for a little something extra. I pierced a hole in the heart (that sounds cruel!) and threaded the twine through the hole and around the outside to tie a sweet little bow.

I did create another (simple!) card to share with you in a few days as well! So look for that on Thursday.

Have a great rest of your day!

Window Shopping!

Good morning and happy Friday!

I hope everyone has had a great week!

Just popping in this morning to share a fun card that I made with the Window Shopping Bundle!

Now, this bundle is ment to create one of those great boxes you see in the upper right corner of the photo above. This set makes it SO easy! I can see so many uses, but up first will be some Valentine’s Day boxes to give treats to my loved ones.

I was in need of a Thank You card though, so I grabbed the large die in the lower left corner, and used that right on the front of my card.

How pretty is that? Using this die on a card makes an easy, quick, and impressive card. My favorite kind lately 😉

I actually made a few different types like this. I made one exactly the same for my sweet hubby, but instead of using DSP behind the die cut, I water colored using our pencils on a small piece of watercolor paper. I need to snag that back from him to share with you all.

This one uses a piece of DSP from the Falling in Love pack. I think I have mentioned a time or two how much I truly love this whole pack!

A bit of Gold thread looped around a few times then tucked behind the sentiment strip finished off the card nicely!

If you have any questions please feel free to let me know by leaving me a comment or emailing me at InkItAll@yahoo.com

Have a fantastic weekend!!!!

Favorites from the Occasions Catalog!

Good morning!

I hope that everyone had a good weekend! Wow, we got a lot done this weekend. Well, by “we” I mean my husband and my son lol They spent all day yesterday moving furniture around in our spare bedrooms so my husband can start working on the nursery. I did a great job of supervising though 😉

I wanted to take a few minutes and do one of my favorite things with each new catalog release… share with you my favorite new items!

The Occasions catalog this year is wonderful! FULL of amazing stamp sets, dies, Designer Series Paper, and so much more, that would make any crafter giddy!

If you haven’t checked it out yet, go ahead! I will wait!!!!

Big on Birthdays pg. 6 How fun is this set? The “At Least You’re Still Pretty” sentiment cracks me up. This will be perfect to send to a couple of friends that are about as sarcastic as I am lol

Carousel Birthday pg. 9 Now, I know this set isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But for me? It is perfect. I love this one so very much! Little bonus? The tops of the Ferris wheel cars can be die cut from one of the cloud dies in the next bundle I will show you! I love it when sets can be used with others! Make sure you take a look at the whole Cupcakes & Carousels Suite on pages 8-9.

Lift Me Up Bundle pg. 10 LOVE… that is all I really need to say. The samples that I have seen with this bundle have blown me away (no pun intended). Everything from classy and elegant, to fun and playful!

This was actually the first bundle I used when I received my preorder. Take a look at it HERE!

Yummy in My Tummy pg. 16 O.M.G… Adorable! This one just makes me smile! I will admit, I don’t have this one…. yet. When I saw the samples at OnStage in November using this stamp set I think I might have squealed! I can totally see Valentines made with this guys!

Mediterranean Moments pg. 29 How lovely are these? Soft, pretty, dreamy… These are so much fun to watercolor.

On that note, make sure you check out our new Watercolor Pencils on page 24! I have them, I love them!

Window Shopping Bundle pg. 43 This bundle makes great little gift boxes, so easy to create with the dies included! In addition to the boxes, you can use the dies on your card fronts to add something special. I will be sharing a card I made recently towards the end of the week where I used that big floral die. I am so happy with the way it came out and I can’t wait to use this bundle more!

Urban District pg. 47 Now, one thing missing in past years from Stampin’ Up catalogs, for me at least, is a GOOD dad set. They took care of it this year! In fact, there is a whole suite that is more masculine that I have ever seen from Stampin’ Up, and I am tickled with it. I have lots of ideas swimming around for Father’s Day cards in my head. I might end up making them soon! Check out the whole Urban Underground bundle on pages 46-47.

Falling In Love DSP pg. 51  Now, this isn’t a stamp set obviously, but I HAD to share this with you. This is part of the Falling in Love suite. The whole suite is beautiful, but this DSP deserved some special attention. It is just beautiful!

I shared some details about the DSP in a recent post, check it out It’s here!!!!! along with a card I made using one of the patterns here.

So In Love Bundle pg. 52 Beautiful, simple, elegant… this is a lovely bundle to have on hand to create anniversary, wedding, Valentine’s Day cards, and so much more. Those two straight dies? They create belly bands to place around your cards or projects. Great little details. In addition, the one with the hearts? That is PERFECT to use when you need a bunch of hearts die cut for a project. Run this through your Big Shot, discard the belly band (or save it for another project!) and you are left with a handful of tiny hearts to use in shaker cards, adhere to the front of a card, insert into the center of the card for confetti when the recipient opens the card…

So there you have it, my top items from the Occasions catalog! Trust me when I say there is SO much more to see and fall in love with than what I have shown you here!

Wednesday I will be sharing my favorites from the Sale-A-Bration catalog, so make sure you check back to see those. Remember, for every $50 you spend, you get a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!

Mediterranean Moments!

Good morning!

Wow… this week has been a crazy one! So thankful that it is Friday!

Any big plans for the weekend? Tomorrow is our quarterly Stamp Camp. A bunch of demonstrators and customers get together and stamp away! It is always so much fun, and a great time to meet up with old and new friends! This Stamp Camp the focus is on the new Occasions catalog, so expect me to share lots of fun samples with you.

My husband and I are busy thinking about the nursery! We found an *amazing* deal on a convertible crib, dresser, & armoire, he is going to pick it up on Sunday. It is going to sit in our 3rd bedroom for a while though while we get the nursery together. Lots of changes will be happening in there!

Now, onto what you are here for 😉

A few days ago I needed a quick card for a very special friend of mine. We don’t talk near enough, but when we do it is like no time has passed. She just always seems to pop up when I need her the most in my life and I wanted to send her a card to thank her for being so amazing.

I played with the Mediterranean Moments set and wow… I am loving this one!

Meditterian Moments.jpg

How pretty! This set is made for using with our new Watercolor Pencils!!!

That is exactly what I did here… My friend has two cats and just adores them. The cat in this stamp reminds me of one of them, so I had to use it! I used our watercolor pencils and an Aqua Painter to quickly add in the color. While simple, I’m pleased with it!

The sentiment is from Avant Garden, one of our Sale-A-Bration sets!

So pretty right?

And check out the patterned paper! That is from the Cupcakes and Carousels DSP.

I buy a ton of our DSP. I always love at least 1/2 of the patterns. In this set though? All of them will be used, and quickly. Love love love them!

I have had a few requests for the Occasions &/or Sale-A-Bration catalogs, I still have some spares. So if you need one, please email me at InkItAll@yahoo.com with your information and I will get them out to you ASAP.

Have a great weekend!

You can purchase from the Annual catalog, the Clearance section online, anything counts!

I will be sharing more in the coming days that I created with new items, as well I will be sharing my top picks from each of the catalogs. Trust me when I say that was a difficult post to create. There are SO many great items in each!

For now, I will leave you with a card I created last night, using all new items!

I love the floral die at the top!!!! That is a die from the new So Detailed Thinlits. Check them out below…

So Detailed.jpg

Now, the die that I used was intended to make a gate over the top of another card. Instead, I trimmed off the edge and used it as you see here.

Before I did that though, I lightly misted a piece of watercolor paper with water, then went over the paper lightly with Rich Razzleberry and Pacific Point watercolor pencils. I used my Aqua Painter to move the color around a bit until I was happy with it. I heat it with my heat gun to flatten out the paper (otherwise you can leave it to air dry) before I die cut it.

It is hard to see the variation of color in the die cut on my card above, but trust me, in person it is there and so pretty!

The dragonfly is from our new Dragonfly Dreams bundle (as is the sentiment).

How fun are these??? And check out that little fat bumble bee! SO CUTE!

I die cut the solid dragonfly from our beautiful Cooper Foil cardstock, then die cut the detailed dragonfly from Rich Razzleberry. Did you see the pretty sparkle on the dragonfly? I went over it with clear Wink of Stella as well.

Now, we need to discuss the background paper. I am SO in love with it!!! It is from the new Falling in Love DSP (page 51 in the Occasions catalog). It is beautiful. It is a lovely mix of soft, dreamy bokah images.

If you haven’t heard of bokah before, it is a photography term. It is highly sought after technique, making images more dreamy, or forcing the viewer to focus directly on the main image and not be distracted by the background.

  1. the visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photographic image, especially as rendered by a particular lens.
“a quick, visual survey of the foreground and background bokeh of a variety of lenses”

Anyway, there ya go!

If you have any questions, please let me know! Otherwise, have fun checking out the links to the catalogs above! If you are in need of the actual catalogs, let me know and I will drop them off for you ASAP if you are local, otherwise I will pop them in the mail.
